Yesterday, my son called me in a panic, asking me to come home immediately. He explained that his father was in our bedroom with two strange women.
Although I was surprised, I didn’t want to panic right away. I asked him to pass the phone to his father or his sister, but he insisted that I come home urgently and hung up abruptly.
A little worried, I immediately tried to reach my husband, but he didn’t answer. I then called my daughter, but got her voicemail. Not knowing exactly what was going on, I informed my boss that I had to leave because of an emergency and rushed home.
The 30-minute drive felt endless, with each minute marked by conflicting thoughts swirling in my mind. What on earth was I going to find when I got home?
When I finally arrived, I opened the door, and what I saw left me speechless.
When I stepped through the door, my eyes immediately fell on a festive scene: balloons, garlands, and flowers everywhere in the living room.
And there, I saw all my friends gathered around the table.
My husband, sitting in the middle, gave me a look before standing up to kiss me.
“Surprise!” he said, bursting into laughter.
“I knew you’d worry, so I asked your son to make you a little anxious to get you home sooner. We wanted to congratulate you on your promotion, and I organized this little party.”
In shock, it took me a few seconds to process.
The tension immediately disappeared, and I burst out laughing.
In the end, it was the best surprise of my life, and I never imagined my husband would play such a prank on me!
