Family Rescues Stranded Dog After Heavy Rains and Chooses to Adopt It

A family rescued a homeless dog that had become caught in the middle of a flooded roadway in a Brazilian city about a month ago. The dog became entangled on a light post full with branches.

The dog was apparently pulled here by the stream of the flooded streets, and in order to escape being dragged, he clung to the fallen branches. At the time, a couple living across the street noticed the dog and went out of their way to aid him.

The man approached the puppy caught in the river and, after catching him in his arms, carried him and took him home to keep him warm and fed.

The puppy appeared to be quite afraid after he arrived at home, and he was soaking and trembling with cold, but he would soon receive proper treatment. They bathed him in warm water with soap, dried him well, and gave him a plate of food and some toys.

A dog blocked the ambulance’s path and wouldn’t move… The medics were stunned by what they saw

19 September 2025 lemon news 0

That day, the ambulance was returning from a call. Tired but focused, the medical team was rushing back — it had been a hectic day with call after call. Suddenly, the vehicle came to a sharp stop — there was a dog sitting in the middle of the road. It stared directly at the ambulance. No honking, no flashing lights could make it move. It was as if the dog was trying to tell the humans something. The paramedic, thinking the animal might be injured or lost, got out of the vehicle. But the dog simply stepped calmly to the side — without fleeing or showing fear. — Something’s not right here, — the driver muttered.— Let’s follow it, — the nurse suggested. As if it heard them, the dog slowly started walking toward the bushes, constantly looking back to make sure they were following. Suddenly, the paramedic froze in place. — Over here! Quick! — he shouted. In the grass, beneath the bushes, lay an elderly man. Unconscious, with bluish lips and a weak pulse. He was alone, and if not for the dog — no one would have found him there. The medics sprang into action: oxygen, stretcher, injections… The man was rushed to the hospital. And the dog? It ran behind the ambulance the entire way. Exhausted, but never falling behind. At the emergency room, no one chased the dog away. It was fed, petted, and someone brought it water. Everyone was amazed by its loyalty. A day later, the man was transferred from intensive care to a regular ward. Then all the staff — from janitors to junior nurses — started begging the head doctor: “Please, let the dog see its owner… it did so much for him.” And the doctor relented. When the dog was brought into the room, silence fell. The man lifted his head with effort… and started to cry. The dog whined softly, crawled to the bed, and pressed itself close. From then on, things began to improve. Every day, the patient waited for his friend by the window. He talked to him and promised to take him on walks as soon as he got out.
