My father dreamed of having a son, and he abandoned us, my sisters and me, simply because we were girls. I remember the growing coldness in his gaze. Sometimes, I felt like he didn’t even love us.
We were four girls, and he kept hoping for a boy. Eventually, he made the decision to send us to live with my grandmother. As for my mother, she didn’t have much choice and stayed silent, afraid to contradict him.
Luckily, my grandmother loved us dearly. She did everything she could to make sure we lacked nothing, and her love helped us get through those difficult years. Our parents would only send us birthday cards, and after the birth of our brother, it felt like they had completely forgotten about us.
Eventually, after years of waiting, my father had the son he had always wanted. And he became their cherished child. He grew up receiving all the attention and love, but he became a spoiled child, even looking down on my sisters and me.
Over time, I felt the need to teach my father a lesson—a lesson he wouldn’t forget, one that would make him regret his choice.
