My mother-in-law was visiting, and after she left, our dog started growling and scratching the ground: I began digging where he was barking and found something horrifying

My husband and I live in a village — it’s quiet and peaceful. He works on a farm, and I stay at home, tending to the garden and the household. My mother-in-law lives in the city with her younger son — and to be honest, we’ve never gotten along. She didn’t accept me from day one. Always giving judgmental looks or making sarcastic comments. But I endured it — for my husband’s sake. Besides, the distance helped — we didn’t see her often.

But recently, she suddenly said she wanted to “get away from the city hustle” and came to stay with us for a week. Claimed she missed us. I had a bad feeling about it, but again — my husband insisted.

From the very first days, she started criticizing everything I did. The soup was too salty, the curtains weren’t ironed, and she said I was raising our 5-year-old daughter the wrong way. She constantly provoked arguments and even managed to drive a wedge between me and my husband. One night, I broke down crying — I just wanted it all to end.

When she finally left, I sighed with relief. But the very next day, something strange started happening.

Our dog, Bucks — the kindest, smartest dog — suddenly began acting aggressive. He growled at the empty garden, ran in circles, and started scratching the dirt near one of the garden beds, barking and digging. I tried to stop him — he wouldn’t listen. He just stared at me and kept going.

The next day, it continued. I couldn’t take it anymore — I grabbed a shovel. My heart was pounding. A dog doesn’t dig and growl for no reason. Something was scaring him. I started digging where he was barking.

And then the ground collapsed. I froze. Sticking out of the earth was… 😱😱 To be continued in the first comment

…a black bag. Tied shut. My heart skipped a beat as I pulled it out.

Inside — a terrible smell and strange items: clumps of hair, an old child’s dress (not my daughter’s!), a doll with a broken head, and — a bundle of photos of me, my husband, and our daughter… with the eyes scratched out.

A chill ran down my spine. I realized this was something occult — maybe even a curse. Who could’ve done it?

There was only one answer — my mother-in-law. She was the only one who had been in our yard. The only one who could have buried it while I was cooking or with our child.

I didn’t know what to do. I brought the bag to a church. The priest said it was “a curse meant to destroy a family.”

I never believed in such things, but what happened with our dog, and everything my mother-in-law said and did those last days… it all fit into one terrifying picture.

Since then, I’ve forbidden her from ever setting foot in our home again. I told my husband everything. At first, he didn’t believe me — but then he saw the photos and the bag I had kept as proof. He was silent for a long time.

And since then, our dog only sleeps at the door — as if guarding us.

I don’t know what exactly my mother-in-law intended, but I’m certain of one thing: she will never cross the threshold of our home again.

What do you think — am I overreacting? Could it be something else?

During the girl’s funeral, a black raven suddenly landed on the coffin, and within seconds, everyone was staring at the bird in horror The priest had just begun speaking words of comfort when a black raven suddenly appeared. It silently landed right on the small coffin, its feathers shimmering in the sunlight, and its eyes glinting with an eerie light. Everyone froze. Someone gasped, someone stepped back. People tried to shoo the raven away, threw stones at it, but then they suddenly realized this raven wasn’t just a bird, but… At that moment, the girl’s mother lifted her head, looked at the raven, and recognition flashed across her face. — It’s him… — she whispered. — That same raven. He used to come to our yard. People turned around, surprised. The woman took a step forward and said loudly through her tears: — Our daughter used to feed him. Almost every day. He would come to the balcony and wait for her to bring him bread. She said he was her friend. She even drew pictures of us — me, my husband… and him. The raven was always there in her drawings. Remembering this, she pulled a folded drawing from her bag — she had kept it with her all this time. On the paper, drawn with a child’s hand, were three people: mother, father, and daughter — and next to them, a black bird with kind eyes. They all had winged arms, as if they were one family. — He came to say goodbye — said the mother in a calm voice. — He’s not just a raven. He remembered her. Everyone stood in silence, unable to utter a word. Something about the story touched the deepest strings of everyone’s soul. And the raven, as if he heard her words, bowed his head in respect. Then, after a long pause, he spread his wings and flew off, disappearing behind the trees. Rating
